Understated and unusual drop earrings featuring golden rutilated quartz and freshwater pearl. Rutile quartz is clear quartz with needle like rutile inclusions that can be golden, red or black in colour. Normally inclusions in a stone will reduce the value, but rutile inclusions are unusual and give a beautiful effect, so increase the appeal and value of the quartz. I have used very fine square bead slices to build the drop, giving the section a lovely honey coloured glow. Adding a nice little freshwater pearl as the finishing touch! The drop is hung on a sterling silver with gold vermeil plated ear stud post with bead and scroll butterfly fittings.
Total drop length 32mm approx.

All items would benefit from a gentle wipe down with a soft cloth after each wear. Pearls are porous and absorb chemicals like perfumes, fake tan, even oil from your skin. This will dull the lustre over time, so allow beauty products to settle before putting on your jewellery. The old saying 'Last thing on, first thing off' is very true! Silver and gold vermeil can be cleaned with a silver cloth or a delicate liquid or foam cleaner. Pearls are recommended to be re-strung every few years.
